TIPS
on Reading Individual Stock Graphs
The H J Heinz graph below allows a quick comparison of the Company’s
“Mkt Cap”
value (left light blue column) to these other financial statement items:
- Total
Revenues on a trailing
twelve month (ttm) basis using the most recent S.E.C. filing information
- E.B.I.T.D.A.
(Earnings
before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) ttm reflects
the amount of cash flow is being generated.
- Operating
Profit ttm is operating profits after depreciation.
- Tangible
Assets
are total assets as of the most recent quarter (MRQ) less intangible
assets, such as Goodwill.
- Total
Liabilities mrq is all of the Company’s liabilities.
Note: a glance over to E.B.I.T.D.A. can give you a feel for debt
reduction ability from operations.
- Working
Capital is Current Assets mrq less current liabilities
mrq showing short term liquidity.
- Equity
is Total Assets less Total Liabilities (mrq) showing the “book
value”of the Company.
